When the heat crests, the splash pad at Stuart Park is still the single most-visited kid destination in downtown Kelowna, and it costs nothing. Shoulder seasons are underrated. September through October means U-pick apples and pumpkin patches at farms like Kelowna Land & Orchard and Davison Orchards up in Vernon — genuinely magical afternoons for kids under ten. In winter, Big White is a 55-minute drive from downtown and runs one of the strongest kids' ski-school programs in the province, while Stuart Park's outdoor rink turns into a nightly free skate under the tree lights.
